CHRISTIANITY IN ONE WEBPAGE !!???

Since I am about to attempt the impossible, its probably a good idea for me to say that if you do want to know more, then please feel free to visit us, mail us or call us for fuller answers. You can discuss your questions with us one to one, or we have informal midweek meetings where you can ask all the questions you like, or from time to time low key enquirers groups are organised.
So if I just have one page to talk to you, what are the most important things to say about Christianity? Well I can’t tell what is important to you, so the first thing to say is that while I don’t know you, God does, He knows you, everything about you. He created the world for people to live in, and was involved in you being born into the world. He is not a God who made everything and then lives at a distance, he is genuinely involved and interested and people can speak with Him and hear Him speak back.
He is also like a perfect parent. It makes no difference to Him whether we are successful or struggling, are cheerful or grumpy, have made a mess of things or kept a clean sheet. Either way He is attending to us, knows us, loves us, and wants the best for us. And that means two key things. One is that He wants to be in relationship with us, and the other is that when we get into relationship with Him, He helps us to be truly ourselves. And that’s where Jesus came in, Jesus is God living on earth so that people could come into relationship with God.
But Star Wars style - there is a problem - the Dark Side. That’s complicated stuff that I’m not going to try to fully explain here because it needs more than a page - so lets just summarise it by saying that Jesus came to show us the Light Side, and that there is also a Dark Side, and how to organise things so as to end up on the right team. The bible says a huge amount about the Dark Side / Light Side thing, but right at the heart of it is the fact that if we choose to follow him, Jesus rescues us from being stuck with a load of Dark Side habits, and sets us free to live on the Light Side. And that is what a Christian is, one who follows The Way of Jesus. In so doing we find out how to be the people we are supposed to be. We can discover how to live in love, hope, truth, forgiveness, patience, selfcontrol, perseverance, determination, and right-living; and escape from addiction, corruption, hatred, guilt, anger, bitterness, envy, hopelessness, despair and so on. The New Testament (Section 2 of the Holy Bible) tells this story, and reading it can help you understand what Christianity is all about.........
But its not always easy to understand the bible at first, and Christianity is really all about relationships - with God and with other believers. So if you want to know more, then do contact us, its the best way to find out about our faith.
