DEMOLITION OF THE INTERIOR
The building was handed over to the developer on 1st September 2001. The organ was removed by a group from Latvia, who are disassembling redundant organs from UK churches, and installing them in Latvian churches, where many organs were destroyed in the communist era.  The
organ is in Rezekne.  A salvage team stripped out the pews, and few ironwork features for architectural salvage. The entire interior of the church was then removed, and the outer three walls supported by scaffolding. The demolition company then dug out the basement to a greater depth to allow for the basement car park, and strengthening of the existing walls began which led to the collapse of the west wall.
