Leaders are Servants !
Chris Thackery has been a full-time leader of the church since 1989. In 1992 the previous pastor Norman Gray moved on to lead a church in Dorset, and Chris became the senior leader. Chris is 50, is married to Charlotte, and they have three children, James 17, Kate 16 and Tamsin 14. Chris and his family live in Harlesden. Before leading the church Chris worked at the National Audit Office. Charlotte is a qualified architect.Chris is the senior pastor and leads the teaching and congregation activities.

Phil Hicks has been a member of the church since 1992. Phil is 49, is married to Susan, and they have three children, Lucy 24 now married to Michael, Aimi 23 and Ben 16. Phil joined Chris as a full time leader in 2003.
Phil's previous work was as a control systems / automation engineer all over the south of the UK. So Phil takes lead responsibility for community and letting use of the building. Phil and his family live close to the church off Westbourne Park Road. Susan works as an artist in sculpture, painting and textiles.

At Westbourne Grove Church we believe that everyone can make a significant contribution, and that the church works best when everyone has opportunity to share the skills and resources they bring. So the leaders seek to involve, encourage, train, and assist church members as much as possible in their involvement and initiatives. Many members lead parts of our meetings, small groups, and other activities, and everyone finds ways of contributing to community life. New activities are started, planned, and run by all, not only by the full time leaders.
The leaders meet regularly with other Salt and Light Network leaders in order to receive wider input and advice.
