Jael Blanco

Jael’s photographic work stems from a need to observe the everyday with care — those things often taken for granted. Through black and white images, she seeks to capture the quiet beauty that resides within the ordinary: a street corner, a passing shadow, a still moment. Using both her camera and her phone, she allows the environment — whether it's her hometown, a city abroad, or public transport — to guide the rhythm and the frame.

Each image serves as an invitation for the viewer to pause, to look closely, and to rediscover their surroundings. Jael aims to spark a reflection: What if we could see our daily lives with new eyes? What if there were poetry in the simple things? In that spirit, she also encourages the viewer to imagine — to add colour to what they see in black and white — completing the experience through their own perception.

Her inspiration is drawn from the places she finds herself in and from a deep curiosity to discover what lies beyond. From Villa Gesell to Córdoba, from Buenos Aires to London, Jael is driven by a desire to connect with each location through light and fleeting moments.

Her relationship with photography began in an analogue setting, developing images in a darkroom. That first encounter — realising that just seconds of light could freeze a moment in time, turning it into something eternal — was what shaped her path. Since then, each photograph has been a small act of wonder.
