Isolation Solitude Lockdown

Emma Humphrey

Emma has been painting since she was 3 years old and has continued painting throughout her life.

Working in mixed media; inks, oil, acrylics, and charcoal, Emma approaches painting and drawing with energy and passion. She feels compelled to make images using bold marks and bright colours.  Art, she says, is the one place she is free to be herself, without expectations or limitations.

Emma’s influences come from subjects she feels drawn to including Victorian and 18th Century art, and Italian artworks and architecture.

In this exhibition, Emma has explored human experiences of isolation, solitude, and lockdown.
