Local services

We all need support from time to time. Sometimes we can offer help directly here at The Grove. There are also many other fantastic projects and organisations in our local community. These aim to serve the local people in different ways. You can find out more below and details to help you follow up with them.

 

Support Groups

  • The Grove hosts support meetings at the church on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays

  • The Grove hosts a support meeting at the church on Fridays. For more information see Debtors Anonymous UK

    BDA UK

  • Whatever you're going through, a Samaritan will face it with you. They are there for you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

 Food Banks

  • Takes place on Sunday and Wednesday afternoons. Please call 020 8960 5289 for times and more details.

    Tabernacle Christian Centre

  • Offers emergency food; a range of professional advice; and citizen’s advice for those on Universal Credit. Based at Notting Hill Methodist Church.

    Kensington and Chelsea Food Bank

  • A community kitchen providing meals to local families in need. We have helped NKCK in the past, providing the use of our kitchen and plenty of storage space. Based at Notting Hill Community Church.

    North Kensington Community Kitchen

 

Homeless Support

  • A Breakfast Drop-in every Monday morning from 9am to 11am here at The Grove. For people who are homeless or on benefits. A place to meet friends and chat over breakfast. We serve cereals, teas and coffees, fruit, snacks and freshly made omelettes.

  • Glass Door partners with churches and community centres to give shelter and support to the homeless.

Family and Children

  • A free after-school tutoring service for lower income families living on or near the Brunel Estate in Westminster. Sessions are fun with games and competition, and are focussed on core subjects. Who try to learn as a group by having fun, through games, play and competition. Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.

    Brunel tutors

  • A children's, youth and family support charity that provides a range of activities to help young children. Offers educational support, art sessions, music programmes, sporting activities, mental health support, mentoring programmes, employment hubs and more. Runs weekdays, evenings and during most holidays.

    Rugby Portobello Trust

  • A Montessori nursery for children from 12 months to 5 years old. Focussed on creativity and learning, supporting each child as an individual. Based here at The Grove.

    Paint Pots Montessori Nursery

  • A local charity alleviating loneliness and isolation among older Londoners. It provides meaningful activities to build community, enjoy hobbies, make new friends and have fun.

Refugee Support

  • Provides a range of services which help 14-25 year olds seeking safety in the UK to get into, stay in and do well in education. We hosted their fundraising dinner in our venue, supported by our staff, to much success.

  • We are part of the Welcome Churches network - churches around the UK who are committed to welcoming refugees. As they arrive in the UK, they can easily find a church to welcome them into the community.
