Rosana Puy

Rosana Puy is a visual artist and educator whose work unfolds as an intimate dialogue with nature. Working primarily in watercolour, she explores the fundamental interaction between image and colour, creating visual compositions that evoke rhythm, harmony, and the quiet complexity of the natural world.

Inspired by her surroundings in Granada, Spain, Rosana draws from the region’s rich colour palette — the greens of plants, the blues of the sky, the ochres of the earth, and the endless tones found in flowers. These elements shape her compositions, where warm and cool tones are carefully balanced to mirror nature’s dynamic equilibrium.

Watercolour, with its inherent delicacy and transparency, serves as her ideal medium. Its fluidity allows pigment to blend and diffuse across the paper, evoking a sense of movement and life that echoes the organic beauty of her subject matter. Through experimentation with texture and tone, Rosana’s works achieve a poetic and lyrical quality, offering viewers both delicacy and expressiveness.

Her artistic practice is deeply rooted in over two decades of experience as both an artist and educator. With a strong academic background in visual arts, she has cultivated a distinctive personal style that reflects her sensitivity to the environment. Through her watercolours, Rosana seeks to capture the emotional resonance and quiet grandeur of nature, offering a contemplative visual narrative that inspires others to rediscover its beauty. She lives and works in Granada, where the natural world remains her greatest muse.
